RIP Bea Arthur 04/25/2009

You were one of a kind.

We had a pot luck dinner the other day after rehearsal and we got to talking about our favorite shows. I brought up Donna Murphy as she is one of my "idols" A few there didn't like her as Fosca and it BLEW MY MIND. How could anyone not see what a brilliant performance this is? OMG.

Sure, she's an awesome power belter with a wonderfully quirky personality, but it's the honesty and sincerity she lends to classic songs like "Up on the Roof" that make my heart melt.

Since I am too shy to seek out men on my own, please send suggestions. If anyone knows guys who like (or more preferably don't mind) fat chicks, who are into musical theater, who are sensitive and not afraid to cry, who are into Joss Whedon, and who are MOST IMPORTANTLY not into penis, send them my way.  I know I ask for much. Straight men who love musical theater are hard to come by. I also like men old enough to be my father, but I'm not THAT picky:P

Oh Challet. 04/21/2009

I'm going to get to sing on Shelly Bort's (Challet Du Bort is her proper title) new recording. Aren't I a lucky beach? She's a super talented song writer, singer, comedian, snark-fest. I mean she's no MIRANDA, but well, who is?

We had our first performance this past Sunday in Woodstock. I got lost driving there the day before as well as that Sunday. I clearly am an idiot and miss turns and am sorely in need of a GPS. Maybe when I finally get that job at the grocery store *cross your fingers!* The show went pretty well and the gals are great. I actually typed the gays are great which is oh so appropriate because this musical is a LESBIAN musical where everyone is a LESBIAN. Hawt. Sadly, my role is in a mere lesbian friend capacity, so as much as everyone wants to see me make out with hot chicks, it's not happening this time around:P

I am bitter because I can't manage to do the one solo line I have in a song right. Seriously, it sounds like I'm going through puberty. Ugh, how awkward. Oh well, c'est la vie. I move on. I am so NOT going to obsess about it. Much.

The cast is great, and they're all professional actors pretty much which makes me go "Oh, gee, do I feel out of place." Then I try to remind myself that I'm trying to get where they are so I calm myself down. Less experience does not automatically mean you suck. *Phew*

Suzie is Da Bomb 04/21/2009

Suzie is one of my favorite people on Youtube. This should show you why:

This almost makes me want to give up the church of Miranda and become a Mormon but....nah.

Much love for this lady. I'm thinking of starting the church of Miranda. Maybe it will catch on.
